This Design-Build project is a 44,000 square foot, two story 50-unit lodging facility, constructed near to the existing Lodge facility at the Naval Construction Battalion Center. The new Lodge features a covered porte-cochere drive-up area with direct access to first floor lobby spaces for convenient guest check-in. Other site development components provided include parking, sidewalks, patios and landscaping. Based on prototypical NEXCOM suite designs, three types of lodging suites are provided, including Family Suites, Business Suites, and Extended Stay Suites. Each suite has a living and sleeping area with a private bath, kitchen or kitchenette. Main entrance, lobby, reception, administration, and housekeeping support areas of the new facility have been planned to also serve the existing Navy Lodge.
As part of a worldwide program to advance the design of planned new lodging facilities, the new Lodge is designed to provide a modern and upscale environment for Navy guests. High-end materials and special design elements were utilized in the main entrance lobby/lounge and reception areas, and in individual guest suites. Facility design also meets Navy Lodge Design standards and incorporates AT/FP design criteria. Exterior design utilizes base standards for exterior finishes including standing seam metal roof, brick veneer and glazed wall components; with an emphasis on durability, efficiency and sustainability. This project achieved LEED Silver certification.
