This project consists of a Master Plan for an 80-acre campus site and design/construction of the first four construction phases. BTA programmed, scoped and designed each phase to align with anticipated legislative appropriations - four funding cycles. Our average bid for all phases was 2% below budget, with bid spread averages less than 5%. This resulted in receiving high building value from the competitive bid market place and less than 1% in total change orders during construction. A citation of merit was awarded to BTA from the College Board of Trustees, citing a project long record of 1.3% cost deviation from budgeted amounts.
The facility complex includes a wellness center, chemistry and biology labs, computer labs, teaching labs, offices, auditorium, admissions and library. Facility design features include flexibility/capacity to accommodate change (structurally, electronically, mechanically, and spatially), materials and finishes for low maintenance, behavioral science driven color selection, acoustically segregated instructional environment, capacity to accommodate state-of-the-art instructional technology.
