AvFID (Aviation Foreign Internal Defense) Operations and Maintenance Facilities, Duke Field, Florida
This two-story operations and administrative facility supports 260 Special Ops personnel and 16 new Special Operations aircraft from four squadrons. Includes administrative areas; separate command sections; training classrooms and a 184-seat auditorium. Operational functions included logistics areas, a Language Center; briefing rooms, flight planning spaces; Open Storage Classified operations areas; and a Class “A” Weapons Vault.
Scope included additions, modifications and renovations to four existing Aircraft Maintenance facilities; a new Aircraft Washrack; and demolition of an existing 59,800 SF hangar.
Included design of aircraft parking apron expansion and improvements for new Special Operations Aircraft; extensive horizontal site-work (roads, utilities, parking), environmental permitting and 125,000 gallon elevated water storage tank.
