Even in doing this, the benefits of high-performance are apparent – but if you consider that high-performance structures are more durable than their traditional counterparts, then we see that the lifecycles of high-performance buildings are on a completely different scale, and as a result, their other benefits offer even more quality than previously thought.

Durability
If we take a look at just the face value of durability, being able to say that your product will function at a higher-level of effectiveness for a longer time increases the value of the product to the future property owner. In the same frame of mind, having a higher-quality space to live or work in increases the value and satisfaction with the product for the tenant/building user.
If we continue in this vein, this results in a project that has a lower rate of vacancy and has a higher perceived value than a traditional product in the eyes of all relevant parties – which in turn results in a higher ROI.
Resale value
A building that lasts longer while maintaining its effectiveness is more valuable to both the property owner and the market. If a property owner can sell their investment at a later date at a higher resale value than its competition, then this means that the product is market ready, competitive, and easier to sell, for a longer period of time, than any of its competitors. From a business standpoint, these facts mean that a high-performance building is an incredible investment opportunity for all parties involved.
Lower maintenance costs
Did we mention that they’re much cheaper to maintain? Due to the ingenuity of high-tech systems and system integration, building systems such as heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and specialty systems such as elevators, to name a few, last longer and are easier to maintain or repair than traditional design.
Longer lifespans on systems and lower repair and maintenance costs mean that the building itself costs less to own. From the point of view of a property owner, this means that their variable investment remains low, while their ROI remains high.
Effectiveness
A high-performance building just runs smoother. No longer are property managers spending their entire days putting out fires and fixing ten-thousand little problems that come along with a few years wear of a traditional building; through automation and integration of a few special features and tailored design, a high-performance building outperforms any other structure.
